SISSONS PAINTS LIMITED dates back to 1956 when the manufacturing facility was established in Chaguanas, Trinidad’s Central district.  Prior to this, a distribution arrangement existed whereby products were imported from England. 

In 1972 the Donald Mc Pherson Group, one of the largest paint groups in Europe, acquired the company.  As part of a strategic move to expand its turf within the Caribbean region, SISSONS established another manufacturing facility in Grenada.  This plant currently services not only its domestic market, but also many other Caribbean islands within close proximity.

In 1993, the Corimon S. A. Group of companies based in Caracas, Venezuela acquired Sissons. Corimon Pinturas is the single largest paint manufacturer in Venezuela. Building upon the asset of the well established SISSONS brand name and proven product performance, the Venezuelan parent company added to the mix, a wealth of experience in the coatings industry.

During the fourth quarter of 2008, AnsaMcal Group of Companies procured Sissons Paints Limited. This marks the first time Sissons has been owned by a local corporation. As the leading player in the local paint market, SISSONS manufactures a wide range of products including architectural paints, wood finishes, water-based products and heavy-duty coatings. Some of our landmark products include WeatherGuard, Super Matt, & Price Buster.

SISSONS Paints Limited has also achieved the latest ISO 9001:2008 certification in both the Trinidad and Grenada manufacturing facilities. The company, conscious of its’ environment, has adopted measures to ensure that all products are lead, mercury & chromate free in addition to implementing a solvent recovery programme for practical measures. SISSONS’ wide distribution network encompasses all major hardware dealers throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
