CNC3 ... “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”. CNC3 was initially founded as a Cable Channel in September 2005 and operated solely on Channel 3 of the Flow Cable Network The television station was named “Cable News Channel 3” and its programming consisted mainly of internally produced News and Current Affairs programmes.
Having been awarded a National ‘FREE-TO-AIR’ licence, the mix of product offerings were reconfigured to cater to a mass audience, comprising of a mix of News and Entertainment. This new line-up was launched in November 2008.
The main feature of the new CNC3 programming line-up now included elements of mainstream entertainment, and several thirty minute situation comedies and hour-long dramas were added to the mix.
The station’s ‘FREE-TO-AIR’ initiative – today positions CNC3 as a mainstream national broadcaster operating on Channels 12, 14 and 22. The station no longer catered solely to a market of cable television subscribers, and now has the potential to reach all 400,000 (and above) households throughout Trinidad and Tobago with an extended reach into Grenada.
For the future, the station will continue to maintain its focus in news and Current Affairs, as well as to programme for ratings success. We will endeavour to measure market response to our roster of shows and will work assiduously to provide quality and value to all of our viewers and advertisers.
On November 1, 2010 CNC3 launched an all-new Programming Line-up with the introduction of a slate of top rated programmes such as Glee, Human Target, America’s Got Talent, Top Gear and V.
CNC3 also makes available live streaming of its programming on the www.guardian.co.tt website. We are confident that in time we will cement our place as the most watched and most favoured television station in Trinidad and Tobago.
