“I hope to further push past my comfort zones like I’ve been doing in the past because as the saying goes “a comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.”
When I came across the ad for ANSA McAL’s Champion programme, I knew that this would be an excellent chance for me to achieve my professional goals, given the vast number of manufacturing companies within the Group and the overall strength and diversity of the ANSA McAL brand.
After being chosen as one of the six Champions in the third cohort, I was placed in the Manufacturing Sector at ANSA Polymer. As a part of the Champions programme, I will rotate throughout the different subdivisions of the company. My present responsibilities include:
- Preparing daily stocklists
- Performing market research for our film product category
- Developing an effective inventory management system for our stock and customer specific products.
I also participate in on-site/on-line testing of our products for client companies. With my knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing engineering, I hope to contribute to broadening our market reach and improving the quality of our products so that we can be CARICOM’s top supplier of plastic products. Moreover, I would like to contribute to advancement and sustainability of our business.
As an engineer, I would normally be placed in production or maintenance and remain there for most of my career. However, under the Champions programme, I will get the opportunity to understand the full scope of the business, thus enabling me to better drive innovation and gain better networking, entrepreneurial and fundamental business skills that will allow me to be a strategic leader in the future. Additionally, I hope to further push past my comfort zones like I’ve been doing in the past because as the saying goes “a comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there”.
