Health, Safety and the Environment

The ANSA McAL Group is committed to the Safety, Health and Welfare of its employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. To achieve our goal of no accidents or injuries and no harm to the environment, the ANSA McAL Group conducts its business in a manner that is consistent with our Guiding Principles:

  • Safety is priority #1
  • No job is so critical that it cannot be done safely
  • We will fully comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation and Standards
  • We will continually improve the Occupational Health and Safety Management System

The ANSA McAL Group complies with, and where possible, exceeds the requirements of:

  • The Occupational Safety and Health Act #1 of 2004 of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (OSHA) as Amended in Act 3 of 2006
  • The Environmental Management Act 2000

In addition to this, we:

  • Practice responsible care in all our business activities
  • Incorporate HSE considerations into the development, manufacture, distribution and use of our products
  • Provide customers, contractors, shippers and the general public with the information required to ensure that our products can be distributed, used and disposed of in a safe manner
  • Develop and implement workplace policies, standards and procedures supported by appropriate training to ensure that all employees can perform their jobs in a safe and healthy manner
  • Require all our employees to take ownership of the OSH policy and visibly demonstrate their commitment to achieving the goals of this policy

We achieve this level of performance by integrating these objectives into our business planning, decision making, performance tracking and review processes, to ensure that HSE is practiced and promoted at all levels of the organisation.
