Job Summary:

  • Prepare, develop and analyze accounting information and provide high quality support and service to management, head office, line managers and/or officers of the Company.

Job Description:

  • Ensure efficient month end close and prepare accurate monthly financial statements; ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Preparation and calculation of annual budgets and performance management.
  • Manage the Year end audit.
  • Ensure all inventory is accurately valued at cost and manage the stock count process.
  • Ensure Receivables are monitored for robust collections and to reduce default rates.
  • Prepare audit schedules for SDL monthly and ensure payment of quarterly tax remittances and submit corporate tax returns for SDL
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Quarterly financial reporting into ANSA McAL Group Performance System – Talentia
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis reports and branch sales reports for Board reporting.
  • Completion of cashier reconciliations (within 3 days) and prepare monthly variance reports for cash overs/shorts. Action necessary deductions.
  • Prepare, processes journals for the general ledger.
  • Supervise the staff and review journals.
  • Review and approval of invoices on the system.
  • Ensure supplier reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Review and approve intercompany confirmations, to assure zero variances.
  • Efficient cash flow planning and management of same.
  • Approval of charged sales orders for credit sales.
  • Reconciliation of collection fees and bailiff/agency payments monthly.
  • Review and maintain the fixed asset register.
  • Approve the creation of new vendors.
  • Prepare and negotiate foreign payments.
  • Comply with Group’s processes and policies as set out and stated in the ANSA McAL Blue Book.
  • Processing financial transactions to ensure the effective recording and tracking of revenues and expenditures.
  • Any other duties, which may be assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • ACCA Qualification
  • Master’s Degree or advanced certification be considered an asset.
  • At least eight to ten (8 – 10) years working experience in the retail industry.
  • Applies the competency in the full range of typical situations, requiring guidance in only the most complex or new situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Experience in Tax and VAT calculations
  • Financial acumen
  • Excellent Report Writing skills
  • Computer literate
  • Attention to Detail
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with accounting software and programs
