Job Summary:

The Accounting Assistant is a key member of the Finance Team, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to effectively and efficiently ensure accurate accounting records and all credit balances.

Job Description:

  • Perform reconciliation of Intercompany statements by ME+3.
  • Prepare foreign payments (disbursements only) via online banking and apply payment in accounts within 24 hours of approval. 
  • Oversee the daily management of the company’s accounts payables and ensure weekly reconciliation of Accounts Payable ledgers.
  • Support month-end closing activities by preparing final reports for Inventory, Fixed Assets, and Accounts Payable, ensuring they are reconciled with the General Ledger, and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Execute verification of fixed assets, coordination of fixed asset counts, and preparation of fixed asset verification reports for the Company before Year End.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of all duties and taxes for imports, in compliance with legal requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounts/Financial Management or equivalent combination of academic and work experience.
  • At least three (3) years experience in finance/Accounting, ideally in the Coatings Industry/Manufacturing Sector.
  • A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP Systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills / analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
