Job Summary: 

  • The Accounting Assistant supports other departments and assists the General Ledger Accountant to process all General Ledger entries for various entities, including ABS, BAL, and ABS GI. This includes reporting, tax calculations, royalties, fixed asset register, accruals, and prepayment to ensure the accurate and timely processing of General Ledger entries for multiple entities within ABS, including ABS, BAL, and ABSGI.

Job Description:

  • Record accurately and post income statement entries by the end of the month to ensure precise and timely recording of income statement entries, with the majority recorded to adhere to monthly journal recording deadlines.
  • Assist with managing all tax computations for ABS, including Corporation Tax, VAT, Business Levy, and withholding Tax to ensure timely and accurate submission and payment of various taxes in compliance and contributing to the financial health of ABS.
  • Delivery of all Audit Schedules on time to ensure the timely, accurate, and complete submission of all audit schedules, demonstrating a commitment to compliance and contributing to a smooth and successful audit process.
  • Accurately record lease entries, standard journals, and other journals to ensure the precise recording of lease entries and journal entries, with standard journals completed as well as ensure that Talentia schedules are reconciled and agree monthly by the 4th working day, contributing to accurate financial records and compliance with reporting timelines.
  • Review intercompany re-billing schedules before AR closes and intercompany reporting schedules to ensure the accuracy and completeness of intercompany re-billing schedules before the Accounts Receivable (AR) closing process and review intercompany reporting schedules between the 2nd and 4th working day of each.
  • Assist with updating the TB (Trial Balance) file and other necessary files for monthly reporting, investigate variances to contribute to the timely and accurate preparation of monthly reporting by updating the TB file and other necessary files.
  • Assist with updating reports, memos, and workings for fixed assets verification and economic useful life review to contribute to the efficient execution of fixed assets verification and economic useful life review processes by participating in physical fixed assets counts.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the GL Accountant.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Business Degree in Accounts/CAT Level 1/Level 1 ACCA
  • 1- 2 years’ Experience within Accounting/Finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Communication Skills
  • Organizational Skills
  • Knowledge of Accounting Terminology
