JOB SUMMARY:
The Country Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the company’s beverage distribution operations within Barbados. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans to drive sales growth, optimize distribution channels, strengthen market presence, and ensure the effective delivery of Carib Brewery’s products across the country.
REPORTING LINE:
The Country Manager reports to the Managing Director, International and Business Development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to increase market share and meet sales targets for Carib Brewery’s beverage products in Barbados.
- Oversee all aspects of product distribution, ensuring efficient logistics, inventory management, and timely delivery to retail outlets, wholesalers, and other partners.
- Drive sales initiatives, build strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key stakeholders, and collaborate with marketing teams to promote brand awareness.
- Ensure all operations comply with local laws, licensing requirements, and industry standards.
- Manage budgets, forecast sales, analyze financial performance, and implement cost-control measures.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the local sales and distribution teams to achieve business objectives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Act as the primary representative of Carib Brewery in Barbados, fostering good relationships with government agencies, business partners, and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years proven experience in a senior management or leadership role in Distribution, Marketing and Sales, or Operations Management within the FMCG, or related industry.
- Strong understanding of the Barbados market, distribution channels, and regulatory environment.
