Job Summary

The Payroll System Administrator for Payroll 123 is responsible for the effective management and support of the payroll system, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll processing. The role involves managing the helpdesk, preparing documentation for configuration changes, and handling support tickets in accordance with established KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs). The incumbent provides helpdesk support for issues raised, liaises with vendors, and supports subsidiaries to address payroll system needs. Active participation in system demos, process and integration testing, and program workstreams is required. Post-deployment, the administrator assumes full ownership of system administration and knowledge transfer to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Payroll 123 to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee helpdesk operations and assist with resolving issues internally or via escalation to vendors and prepare detailed documentation for configuration changes.
  • Monitor and report on system performance and key metrics, identifying trends and potential issues.
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot user problems, escalating to vendors as needed.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to optimize functionality and efficiency.
  • Participate in system design, implementation, testing, and integration projects to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Perform system updates, security patches, and regular maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and deliver training for helpdesk staff and stakeholders, supporting knowledge transfer and end-user adoption.
  • Liaise with vendors and subsidiaries to address payroll system needs and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of compensation policies and evaluate their impact on payroll systems and processes.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent
  • Payroll Knowledge and Experience:
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, including statutory requirements, payroll components, and HRIS integration.
  • Experience with Payroll 123 or similar payroll systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of compensation policies and their impact on payroll systems and processing.
  • Professional Experience:
  • Proven track record of managing helpdesk issues in compliance with SLAs/KPIs
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/SAP or payroll software implementation projects, including system design, testing, and integration.
  • Experience in preparing documentation for configuration changes and troubleshooting tickets.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with system performance monitoring, key metric reporting, and recommending system improvements.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot technical issues, escalating to vendors when necessary.
