Job Summary:

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services, including the negotiations of contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms. This role involves proactive strategic research, planning, and sourcing to effectively meet the organization’s needs.

Job Description:

• Develop and implement viable purchasing strategies. Implement corporate policies and quality control standards.
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.
• Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance.
• Analyze pricing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize procurement processes.
• Provide guidance and training to procurement staff.
• Review and expedite purchase orders and manage procurement policies.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (C.I.P.S.) Level 4 or higher will be an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software, Oracle Products, and SAP.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Power BI is an asset.
