Job Summary

The Purchasing Officer will coordinate and oversee the procurement of raw materials, equipment, goods, and services to ensure efficiency, adherence to budget, and compliance with ANSA McAL group policies, optimizing cost and ensuring timely delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of materials, machinery, and services to support production efficiency.
• Supervise Purchasing Clerks to ensure accurate and timely processing of orders.
• Review and approve purchase orders and contracts within budgetary limits for cost efficiency.
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and terms to secure the best value while maintaining strong relationships.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments to meet procurement needs and support operational continuity.
• Prepare and analyze procurement reports, identify trends, and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Oversee the tendering process, evaluate bids, and select suppliers according to Group Policy guidelines.
• Manage inventory levels in coordination with other departments to optimize stock and minimize excess costs.
• Assist the Supply Chain Manager with budget preparation and alignment of procurement activities with business objectives.
• Perform additional duties as required to ensure departmental efficiency and organizational goals are met.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
