Position: HSSEF and Fleet Coordinator

Job Summary: The HSSEF and Fleet Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the General Manager. This role involves creating a safe, healthful and environmentally friendly workplace, coordinating the timely maintenance/ breakdown service of the fleet of vehicles and ensuring the facility is to an acceptable standard at all times.

Job Description:

  • Coordinate with contractors/service providers, source quotations for projects/ services required, schedule and follow through until payment
  • Supervise contractors to ensure conformance to the company’s HSE policies and ensure quality of work
  • Assess and respond to facility malfunctions/ emergencies (eg plumbing, electrical, refrigeration and air conditioning) and engaging the appropriate approved contractor to assist with restoration
  • Assist management in carrying out daily requests as it relates to Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure the workplace is maintained to the highest HSE Standards, legal requirements and as per ANSA McAL HSE Bluebook.
  • Assist management in conducting workplace inspections, evacuation drills, co-ordinating HSE training, toolbox meetings and other proactive measures to maintain a safety and healthful environment
  • Purchasing of personal protective equipment and safety equipment as requested from Managers/ Supervisors
  • Assist with making arrangements with the security provider for services required
  • Assist with review of camera footage following an incident and checking of cameras to ensure online at all times
  • Assist with review of CMS reports and checking of intrusion and fire systems to ensure online at all times
  • Receive and review fleet related complaints (presented in writing) and schedule with the approved Contractor to fix/service the vehicle in a timely manner, providing regular updates to the respective department to which the vehicle belongs
  • Respond to call-out emergency situations that may arise due to the nature of the business, inclusive of but not limited to after-hours call outs
  • Provide assistance with transport of injured employees to medical institutions, as required
  • Oversee projects after hours and on weekends, as required
  • Assist with any compound related occurrences that may affect our business operation
  • Perform other related duties as required by job function and department

Qualification:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar field or in a Health, Safety and Facilities environment
  • Diploma or Certificate in the field
  • Working familiarity with building and vehicle maintenance
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy boxes
