Position: Assistant Accountant - Pensions

Job Summary:

This position will be required to perform routine accounting and bookkeeping duties following established procedures including the posting of entries, verifying and reconciling of accounts and preparation of Financial Statement.

Job Description:

  • Maintains local investment sub ledgers & complete journals for sub ledger entries for the 3 Pension Plans.
  • Performs monthly accrual calculations and journal entries.
  • Conducts monthly mid-market valuations on local equities for Pension Plans.
  • Checks and confirms transfer of funds in Citibank and Morgan Stanley account and prepares journals for such receipts/payments
  •    Reconciles intercompany accounts between the Pension Plans and Tatil Life (VAT, mortgages, investment fees).
  • Prepares CBTT Semi-annual reports for the pension plans.
  • Preparation of Draft Financial Statements for the 3 Pension Plans annually
  • Preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors for throughout the course of the audits for the 3 Pension Plans.
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts for all 3 pension plans with supporting notes and schedules.
  • Prepares and reconciles journals, local and foreign investment sub-ledgers to general ledger for Pension Plans
  • Reconciles the foreign managed portfolio and prepares journals for all movements within the foreign portfolios.
  • Reconciles the bank accounts for the Pension Plans.
  • Assist with the preparation of various reports for trustees, management and board of Directors.
  • Reconciles the foreign managed portfolio and prepares journals for all movements within the foreign portfolio.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounting and Pension Plan environment.

Training:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Knowledge of IAS’s, Statutory Regulations, Insurance Legislation

Excellent Verbal and Written Skills/Communication
