Position: Financial Accountant

Job Summary: 

Contributes to the development and implementation of the Company’s accounting systems, policies and procedures.  Supports the department through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation. Maintains complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

Job Description:

  • Preparation of Year End Accounts with External Auditors
  • Management of cash flows to ensure optimal usage of funds
  • Ensure timely payment to suppliers within the agreed terms
  • Conduct variance analyses of expenses and propose recommendations to reduce cost
  • Oversee accounts payable recordkeeping to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure expense coding voucher preparation and cheque issuance are processed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Co-ordinate the preparation and maintenance of disbursements, reports and statistics for government agencies and others
  • Produce various reports for management including accounts payable register
  • Record organization’s business transactions and retain all accounting records
  • Post, verify and reconcile accounts payable, payroll or other ledger accounts
  • Submit reports of business financial operation

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACCA Qualified
  • Five (5) years’ experience working in a high-volume environment
  • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and accounting software
  • Read, analyze and interpret procedures and statutory regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Apply generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
  • Make sound decisions and use good judgement while problem solving
