1. Which group company are you currently assigned and how long have you been with the ANSA McAL group?
I am assigned to Abel Building Solutions which is part of the newly formed construction sector, I have been with the group for a little over two years.
2. Describe your portfolio as divisional manager at Abel Building Solutions (ABS) and some of your key responsibilities? What are some of your aspirations in this role?
As divisional manager of the air conditioning division I am responsible for the general management of four departments. These are commercial projects, retail/ wholesale sales, service and parts. My key responsibilities are leading and managing our employees, setting the strategy for the business, creating efficiencies in the various departments, improving customer service and ensuring the continued profitability of the business.
My aspiration for the division is to continue to grow our market share rapidly, as there is a large market for air conditioning in Trinidad and Tobago and the region. This cannot be accomplished without well trained and qualified employees to lead the company into the future in this technical field. Our focus has to be on developing our employees to be the best in the business and this is exactly what we are doing.

4. Why would someone want to work for ABS?
Abs is moving in the right direction in the construction industry, in terms of the high quality products that are produced and distributed. The establishment of the construction sector, which will change our route to market for customers.
There are opportunities to learn multiple facets of the construction business, as abs is a very complex company. From small home installations to large multi-million-dollar projects, there are lots of opportunities for learning and development in your career.
5. What is your work mantra and guiding principles?
You need to always believe in yourself and push the limits to what you think is possible. You will always have self-doubt and hurdles along the way and may fail along the way, but be consistent in your approach and continue to focus on your goals. We need to always ask, am I living to my full potential? Always aim for self-improvement and work hard towards it.
