Penta Paints, formerly ICI Paints (West Indies) Limited which was incorporated in 1959 and acquired in 1979 by the Mc Enearney Alstons Group. Penta became a member of the ANSA McAL Group, following the acquisition of Mc Enearney Alstons by the ANSA Group in 1986. In 2001, Penta Paints relocated its plant and headquarters from Tumpuna Road North to its current location at Tumpuna Road South. On May 27th, 1960 Sissons Paints (West Indies) Limited was registered and operated as an agency from 1956-1959. In 1972, the Company was acquired by Donald Mc Pherson Group and on July 9th 1974 the name of the Company was changed to Sissons Paints (Trinidad) Limited with their registered offices in Chaguanas and franchised Colour Shops located throughout Trinidad and Tobago. In 1986, Sissons opened a plant in Grenada to supply the OECS countries. Sissons Paints has set the pace for product development in the Caribbean and was the first company to successfully introduce products such as Siscolac Chinese Lacquer, Polyurethane Varnish, Oil Varnish Stain, Non Drip Ceiling White, Weather Guard Exterior Emulsion and a Water Base Enamel- Aqua.
