ANSA McAL Limited recently received the honour of being named the NUGFW’s ‘Employer of the Year’ 2008. The award was presented to the Group Chairman and Chief Executive, Mr. A. Norman Sabga by President General of the NUGFW, Mr. James Lambert at an in-house reception at the Group’s Head Office.
The Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Gerry Brooks, welcomed the guests present at the breakfast event, whilst utilizing the opportunity to reassure of the Group’s strong, relevant and appropriate business model and corporate governance, citing “Our Balance sheet, cash flows, liquidity ratios are very healthy – exceeding all prudential criteria.”
Prior to the formal presentation of the Award, President General of the NUGFW, Mr. James Lambert, provided the audience with a brief history of the business relationship between the ANSA McAL Group, and the Union. He commended the Groups’ leadership for the open-minded approach to the bargaining process, and stated that the decision to recognize the Group as the Union’s Employer of the Year was quite an easy decision.
In accepting the award, Group Chairman and Chief Executive, Mr. A. Norman Sabga, stated that he was delighted to accept the honour on behalf of the employees, executive and board of the Group. Mr. Sabga spoke on the magnitude of the achievement in being recognized by one of the Nation’s largest unions, and more so in gaining a strengthened relationship of mutual agreement. The Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive, recommitted to working towards maintaining the Group’s investment in its people, and practice towards ensuring a productive and fruitful end result for both the employer and the employee.
Also present at the presentation was the NUGFW Secretary General, Mrs. Jacqueline Jack, and 1st Deputy President, Mr. Christopher Street.
