Bestcrete wins Top Exporter 2005









At the recently held Annual ANSA McAL Group Chairman’s Awards luncheon, Bestcrete Limited, the leading national manufacturer and supplier of a complete range of concrete products, systems and solutions captured the coveted Group Chairman’s Award for Top Exporter 2005.

Bestcrete won as the company with the highest increase in exports over the previous year 2004, winning this prestigious award from five other leading regional ANSA McAL group manufacturers in the industrial clay products, glass products, decorative and industrial coatings, air conditioning units and match manufacturing. Bestcrete also captured several other awards including the “Company with the Best Managed Inventory”, whilst also garnering an award for “Surpassing Annual Budgeted Profit”, winning three top awards for the year.

At the executive luncheon several other subsidiaries were recognized for their outstanding performance for 2005, including the Trinidad Publishing Company which copped the “Best Creator of Value” Award.

Alstons Shipping Limited, ANSA McAL (US) Limited, ANSA Technologies and Brydens Retail Inc. of the Services Sector, also received top awards in the “Surpassing Annual Budgeted Profit” category. This stellar performance tipped the scales for the Services Sector to win the prestigious “Overall Outstanding Performance” in a sector, topping the manufacturing, brewing, distribution, media, and financial services sectors. Other subsidiaries which were honoured for their performance in the “Surpassing Annual Budgeted Profit” category were DCI Miami Inc., Trinidad Publishing Company Limited, McEnearney Motors Limited and the Barbadian company Bryden Insurance Inc. Brydens Business Solutions Inc, another Barbadian subsidiary of the Group captured the “Best Management of Receivables” Award.

The ANSA McAL Group Chairman’s Awards programme, is designed to recognize and honour the Group subsidiaries’ top performers.  In 2005, The ANSA McAL Group produced stellar results with an increase in profit before tax by 41.1% or $190.4million to $645.8 million.
