Senior E&I Engineer

 


 


 


Job Summary:




  • Lead and exercise technical supervision over employees engaged in the planning, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the plant, including high voltage switch-gear and process control instrumentation


  • Troubleshoot and undertake root cause analysis of electrical, electronic and technical faults on high voltage transformer and switch-gear equipment, motors (various sizes), electro-mechanical systems, PLC based systems (Siemens and Allen Bradley) and process control equipment, in the Manufacturing Division


  • Prepare inspection reports to indicate the nature of repairs/replacements required, on electrical and electronic systems throughout the plant in order to ensure maximized plant utilization


  • Applies knowledge of electrical engineering and instrumentation theory and practice in solving on-going problems arising within the course of daily work throughout the plant. 

Assist in the development and administration of a CMMS based preventative maintenance program.




  • Assist the Chief Engineer in research, development and project work.


  • Review and/or prepare initial designs and plans, including estimates of quantities and costs of materials, labour requirement for new installations, modification and maintenance work.


  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of department policy and procedures.


  • Assist in the selection and/or development of detailed training programs.
    The Ideal Applicant must possess the following qualifications and experience:

Critical Requirements:




  • BSc Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering


  • At least 7 years experience in a process industry

Important Requirements:




  • In-depth knowledge of engineering codes, practices, standards and procedures


  • In-depth knowledge of power systems and switch-gear


  • Experience with the management of predictive/preventive maintenance programs


  • Experience in a Food/Beverage & Packaging Industry


  • Proficient in troubleshooting Siemens PLC based systems and networks


  • Proficient in troubleshooting PLC systems at the software level
