We are pleased to share the following strategic changes within the ANSA McAL Executive Team Management in both the Beverage and Distribution Sectors.
These changes are in direct support of the Group’s 2X agenda and underwrite the redefined purpose, which is to guide and empower sectors with a purposeful move towards greater agility.
LEESA MURALLY:
Effective 1st November 2025, Ms. Leesa Murally will be appointed as Managing Director of CARIB Brewery Limited (CBL). In her new role, Leesa will report directly to the Sector Head – Beverage and will have oversight and overall responsibility for the operations and implementation of the company’s business strategic objectives.
Leesa is an experienced executive with a proven track record in Finance & Risk and currently holds the position of the Beverage Sector’s Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary to the Board of Caribbean Development Company Limited (“CDC”).
Earlier in her career, she held several roles with CDC and WITCO and currently serves on the boards of CDC, Bayside Towers, and Community Chest. She also previously served on the Boards of Carib Glassworks Limited and Abel Business Solutions.
Leesa holds an MBA in Strategic Planning from Heriot-Watt University and is both a Fellow of the ACCA and a Certified Internal Auditor. Her professional development includes extensive executive training in Forensic Auditing, Corporate Governance, Balanced Scorecard, and Boardroom Effectiveness.
Known for her people-centred leadership style, Leesa is recognized for driving continuous improvement initiatives, fostering data-driven decision-making, and reinforcing governance and cybersecurity across the organization.
DAVID WELCH:
Effective 1st November 2025, Mr. David Welch will assume the role of Managing Director at AMCO. In his new capacity, David will report to the Sector Head – Distribution and will be charged with strategic oversight and overall responsibility for the operations and implementation of the company’s business objectives.
This appointment is part of an ongoing succession planning process by the Group and follows an earlier announcement in 2024 of Mr. Abdel Ali’s appointment to the role of Sector Head Designate – Distribution.
David joins us with more than 25 years of leadership experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, bringing a powerful blend of operational expertise, commercial acumen and a deep commitment to people and performance.
Prior to this appointment, David served as the Managing Director of CARIB Brewery Limited (CBL) and previously held the position of Marketing Director at CBL during the period of 2000 to 2006. He also successfully led operations as the Chief Operating Officer for one of Trinidad & Tobago’s leading FMCG companies for several years.
With a strategic mindset that drives performance and growth, David brings deep financial and operational expertise to the organization. His substantial industry experience is further reinforced by an MBA (Distinction) from Anglia Ruskin University, where he specialized in Project and Supply Chain Management.
We are confident that David and Leesa’s extensive experience within the group, coupled with their industry knowledge, will be pivotal in driving both the Beverage and Distribution Sectors’ continued success and growth.
