Position Summary:
The Purchasing Manager at ANSA McAL Trading, Inc. serves as a key people manager, leading and guiding the procurement team while driving strategic sourcing initiatives across Group Companies. The role involves overseeing the end-to-end purchasing function, mentoring staff, and fostering strong supplier partnerships.
The incumbent is responsible for analysing market trends, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement, and promoting efficiency and sustainability within the supply chain. Through effective leadership, collaboration, and performance management, the Purchasing Manager ensures that team objectives align with the broader goals of the ANSA McAL Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement of raw materials, machinery/equipment, goods, services and other supplies for use and/or consumption by the Company as dictated by the business needs of the respective departments, to secure high-quality materials and services at the best value.
- Monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods, to ensure safe handling of hazardous materials, maintain regulatory compliance, optimize operational costs, and support uninterrupted production.
- Prepare and review the Department’s annual budgets and forecasts, with recommendations for cost savings, to align supply chain operations with business goals.
- Negotiate/liaise with suppliers and prospective suppliers on contracts, commodity terms and prices within budgetary limitations, to secure reliable supply, achieve cost savings, manage market volatility, and ensure materials meet the plant’s quality and safety standards.
- Execute tenders and contracts with suppliers/vendors in accordance with Group Policy guidelines, to maintain compliance.
- Oversee vendor/supplier evaluations, to ensure compliance with Group Policy, and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Management of the stock count process in compliance Group Policy, to ensure inventory accuracy, support financial reporting integrity and identify discrepancies proactively.
- Develop and performance manage subordinate staff while providing effective leadership and ensuring compliance with company policies/procedures, to build a high-performing team and support employee growth and retention.
- Perform any other duties as required by the job function to maintain effective operation of the business.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- Professional certifications such as the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or CIPS Level 5/6.
- Relevant experience in a procurement or purchasing environment, typically 5+ years, with progressive responsibility.
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, budgets, and negotiation terms.
- Extensive experience in MRP Management will be an asset.
