Job Summary
Responsible for the overall management, growth, and profitability of the company’s vehicle rental and leasing operations. The role oversees fleet utilization, customer service, sales performance, financial results, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborates with the General Manager of Rental & Leasing Division to prepare strategic and development plans and objectives for the organization.
• Reviews departmental status reports and performance audits, provides advice and initiates actions to create improvements and resolve problems.
• Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and authorizes expenditure with General Manager approval.
• Assists in selection of personnel for division.
• Prepares weekly and monthly report of operations to be included in report to board of directors.
• Identifies new leads and potential markets through research of organizations and individuals via various means including but not limited to social media.
• Builds rapport and qualifies buyers by understanding buyer’s requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models.
• Participates in managers meetings to formulate plans and policies for proper management and functioning of Leasing & Fleet Departments.
• Implements managerial decisions through subordinate staff and keeps the General Manager informed of progress.
• To supervise and monitor the staff inclusive of managing the staff (schedules, presence, timetable), the shift forecast, possible temporary shift; inclusive of managing the day’s priorities according to the bookings.
• To manage the stations as profit centres
• Managing and optimizing fleet availability, utilization, maintenance, and replacement plans.
• Leading and developing the rental and leasing team to achieve operational and sales targets.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate and individual customers.
• Monitoring contracts, pricing, renewals, and lease agreements to maximize profitability.
• Maintaining compliance with insurance, and company requirements.
• To manage and control the fuel and service provider bills.
• Attend conferences, meetings and industry events to build the company’s networks and identify leads and business opportunities.
• Collaborating with sales, finance, operations, and after-sales teams to support business objectives and requirements as needed for the Department.
• Analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customers’ needs to identify growth opportunities.
• Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
• A minimum of five years’ automotive sales or sales experience and an excellent network of contacts are required to succeed in this position.
• Experience in the short- or long-term car rental industry will be an asset
• A Degree in Management or similar
• Computer literate with knowledge of a variety of computer software applications
