A celebration of excellence in regional construction will be held in March 2011. Abel Building Solutions (ABS), a subsidiary of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies will host the Caribbean Construction Awards (CCA) on Monday March 21, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, Trinidad.
The event will recognize industry players whose work shows true excellence in architecture, engineering and construction. Construction projects from throughout the Caricom region will be judged on innovation, aesthetics and functionality of design as well as the quality of construction.
Speakers at the launch of the CCA, which was held on Wednesday 19th January 2011, at the ABS headquarters, were:

Mr. Mark Raymond – President of the Trinidad & Tobago Institute of Architects and Chair of the Association of Commonwealth Societies of Architects in the Caribbean
Mr. Mikey Joseph – President of the Trinidad & Tobago Contractors Association
Participants of the CCA will have their entries exhibited at the CAIC/CARICOM Caribbean Construction forum scheduled for Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd March 2011 at the Hyatt Regency.
Launched in 2010, ABS is a company that combines the resources of the five divisions of ABEL/Bestcrete – ABEL Clay, Metpro, ABEL Air Conditioning, the Projects Department and Bestcrete, creating a one-stop shop and servicing the building needs of customers. The company’s cadre of professional engineers and technicians also provide consultancy services for customers.
Entries for the Caribbean Construction Awards should be submitted through the website www.caribbeanconstructionawards.com by Friday February 18, 2011. Shortlisted entrants will be notified on Friday March 4, 2011.
