Accountant (On Contract during ERP Implementation)

 



 


POSITION:                Accountant (On Contract during ERP Implementation)  
DEPARTMENT:         Finance
REPORTS TO:          Chief Financial Officer 
SUPPORT STAFF:    Junior Accountant, AR Clerk, AP Clerk, Payroll Clerk
LIAISES WITH:          Accounts / Operations / Marketing / IT / HR/ Management


 


MAIN PURPOSE: 


To serve as a back fill for the Senior Accountant and Cost Accountant during the ERP Implementation.   


 


RESPONSIBILITIES:




  1. Co-ordinate the month end close process with a view to having all entries posted no later than the 3rd working day


  2. Review and approve all JE’s prior to posting to GL


  3. Review monthly financial statements against budget, prior year, prior month for reasonableness


  4. Review reports to be submitted to Head Office and to the Board for accuracy and completeness


  5. Review and approve all balance sheet schedules and reconciliations


  6. Supervise and coordinate the daily duties of the Junior accountant and Accounting Clerks


  7. Prepare Tax Computation


  8. Manage Accounts Receivable and approve invoices to be generated for delivery of product 


  9. Review and approve Cheque Payment Vouchers by doing 3 way match – PO to GRN to Invoice


  10. Review and approve the fortnightly and monthly paid payrolls


  11. Manage cashflow through payments to suppliers and Inter companies and debtor collections


  12. Review costings of all inventory items from Purchasing Department


  13. Ensure all sub-ledgers are reconciled to the GL monthly


  14. Assist in the preparation and review of inventory aging reports for WIP, Raw Materials and Finished Goods


  15. Provide audit schedules required for auditors


  16. Comply with Company policies and procedures


  17. Any other duties as determined by the CFO 

 


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:




  • ACCA, CIMA or B.Sc. in Accounting with a minimum of three years post qualification experience.


  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset. 


  • Advanced computer proficiency
