ANSA McAL Limited is proud to announce the groundbreaking (sod-turning ceremony) of the Chateau Margot Mall, an exciting new development on the East Coast of Demerara, Guyana.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of His Excellency, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, who joined ANSA McAL’s leadership to mark this historic occasion.
The project marks another significant milestone in ANSA McAL’s 33-year journey in Guyana — one that began in the early 1990s with the establishment of ANSA Distribution Inc. and has since expanded across multiple sectors including media, automotive, beverage, and construction.

The Chateau Margot Mall will span approximately 110,000 square feet of leasable space, providing a modern, sustainable lifestyle centre for shopping, dining, work, and entertainment. Beyond the economic opportunities created — including hundreds of construction and long-term retail jobs — the mall will celebrate Guyana’s heritage by integrating the historic Chateau Margot chimney as a proud symbol of resilience and progress.
This development showcases ANSA McAL’s real estate expertise across the Caribbean — from concept and land acquisition to design, financing, and construction — and reinforces the Group’s continued confidence in Guyana’s dynamic economy and its commitment to supporting One Guyana through innovation, inclusivity, and long-term investment.
