ANSA McAL Trading Limited, as part of its initiative to promote Guyana “going green” has donated $155,000 to the University of Guyana Pamela Bourne’s UG Environmental Enhancement Project – Donate a Tree.
University of Guyana’s Vice-Chancellor, Lawrence Carrington, said, “I would like to express our gratitude to ANSA McAL. We see it as an important beginning for our relationship and we are looking forward to partnering with you again on other “green ideas“.
At the small handing over ceremony held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office yesterday, ANSA McAL Trading Limited’s Public Relations Officer, Darshanie Yussuf, said, “We see involvement in this project as a positive step in preserving and ultimately enhancing UG’s environs as it strives to achieve higher standards.”
“We are dedicated to promoting a healthy environment and we will continue to do what we can; from maintaining a clean surrounding to assisting with ideas such as this,” she added.
The project envisions the enhancement of the physical environment of the University’s campus through landscaping with carefully selected trees, shrubs and other appropriate planting material.
This project is expected to be completed within three months.
