Clean & White Bleach Donates to the Barbados Cancer Society
On 20th September, 2012, Bryden Stokes Ltd presented a cheque for $5,000 to Dr. Dorothy Cooke-Johnson, Honorary Secretary of the Barbados Cancer Society resulting from the recently concluded Clean & White Bleach Comfort of Clean Charity Promotion. This promotion was conducted during July 1 to August 31, 2012 and allowed that ‘for every Clean & White Bleach (Regular, Lavender and Floral) purchased during the promotion, 10 cents would be donated to the Barbados Cancer Society’.
Dr. Dorothy Cooke-Johnson expressed her sincere thanks to Bryden Stokes and the customers of Clean & White bleach. She stated that the donation came at an opportune time when they are confronting serious issues with prostate cancer. According to Dr. Cooke-Johnson, prostate cancer is causing “100 deaths annually, compared to 50 for breast cancer mortality”. She stated that ‘the gift of $5,000 will enable the Society to redesign their current brochure advising on prostate cancer which was designed 15 years ago” as well as to “help us to get started on our advertising campaign in November”. She further thanked Bryden Stokes for “recognizing the needs of gentlemen, for awareness and early detection. In time with more accurate tests … we should be better able to beat this and many other types of cancer” she stated.
To further encourage consumers to purchase Clean & White bleach and thus allow Bryden Stokes to make a meaningful donation to the Society, a consumer promotion was conducted simultaneously. Shoppers had the opportunity to win hampers valued at $250.00 every two weeks throughout the promotional period and 5 GE Washing Machines were the grand prizes at the end. Congratulations to Tricia Wilson, Jefferson Weekes, Antonia Rock, Jennifer Blaggrove and Keisha Spencer, who were presented with their GE washing machines at the same presentation with Dr. Cooke-Johnson.
Muriel Watson, the final winner for the hampers was also presented with her hamper full of cleaning products, including the Regular, Lavender and Floral bleach today. The other hamper winners were Cheryl Sobers, Kathy-Ann Worrell and Eldra Phillips.
Bryden Stokes Ltd, along with Ansa Chemical Ltd, the makers of Clean & White Bleach, wishes to thank all persons who contributed in any way towards this promotion.
