Job Description:
To provide Support to the Senior Accountant by executing the financial reporting requirements of the Bank. The Accountant also supports various aspects of the monthly Financial Statement Close Process and annual external audit of the Bank.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Accountant responsible for preparation of financial statements, and consolidation for the year-end annual report as well as leading the annual external audit of the Company
- Preparation of the reconciliation of all sub-ledgers versus the General Ledger
- Preparation of internal reports to be delivered to various stakeholders
- Assist with the preparation of external reports to the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT) and any other regulatory bodies
- Generate journals compliant to International Accounting Standards
- Maintain and reconcile designated Trial Balance accounts
- Provide analytics on the financial reports assigned, inclusive of variances to budget and prior year(s)
- Preparation of the monthly Management Accounts
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly Board Pack deliverables
- Assist with the preparation of the quarterly Parent Company Stat Pack and ANSA Group Reports
- Assist with the production of templates plus the collation of documents for the external annual audit
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies/ procedures
- Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Company’s Management and to Head Office.
- Perform required research and implementation of new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and ensure the Company’s compliance
- Complete any other duties as assigned by the Senior Finance Manager
Basic Qualifications & Experience
- ACCA qualified or equivalent professional qualification
- A minimum of two (2) years’ progressive accounting experience
- Knowledge of International Accounting Standards, especially accounting standards relevant to the financial services sector (e.g. IFRS9, IFRS16 in particular)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software package(s).
