JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Accountant has primary day-to-day responsibility for managing the Cash & Bank, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Leases and Taxation.  This includes maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring adherence to the Group’s policies and procedures, accounting standards and compliance with Tax laws and regulations. This role plays a critical part in the financial reporting process, supports various accounting functions and aids in strategic decision-making. The accountant is also responsible for the development and implementation of policies, processes and providing support during audits.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accurately manage the accounting, tracking, journal entries, reconciliation, documentation and reporting of all leases held by the company, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and Group’s policies.
2. Accurately manage the accounting, tracking, journal entries, reconciliations, documentation and reporting of the company’s fixed assets, ensuring accurate maintenance of fixed asset registers in accordance with applicable accounting standards and Group’s policies. This includes fixed assets count and economic useful life review.
3. Preparation and maintenance of the general ledger including the trial balances, journal entries, reconciliations such as loans, investments, other receivables, prepayments, accruals, other payables, etc., accounting and documentation. Ensure that all financial data is recorded correctly and in accordance with applicable accounting principles, standards and the Group’s policies. Reconciliations include identifying discrepancies, resolving issues and recording adjustments relating to general ledger transactions.
4. Review and manage cash & bank held by the company, ensure that the bank accounts do no go into overdraft.
5. Preparation and management of monthly and quarterly Financial Reporting accounts including intercompany reporting ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and Group’s policies. Reports must reflect accurately the company’s financial position.
6. Preparation of all aspects of the company’s taxation including accounting, reconciliation, documentation and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
7. Managing employee’s mapping, financial dimensions, account structures, account rules and other posting profiles.
8. Provide necessary documentation, analyses, respond to inquiries and support during internal and external audits relating to the Cash & Bank, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Leases and Taxation. This includes uploading requests via the auditor’s portal/system.
9. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance relating to the Cash & Bank, General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Leases.
10. Analyze variances, prepare analytical reports/analyses and provide commentary based on the General Ledger, Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
11. Promote safety awareness and the development of a safety culture within the company.
12. Ensure compliance with Ansa McAl Group Policies, accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and internal controls.
13. Assist in the supervision of the staff in the General Ledger department.
14. Perform any other related duties as required by the General Ledger Accountant and Senior Accountant.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of Level 2 ACCA Qualification or equivalent.
• BSc in Accounting or a similar field.
• Experience in Supervisory Management.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft D365.
