JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing HR functions within Abel Building Solutions. They will work closely with key executive management and handle all aspects of the HR lifecycle. This position involves providing leadership, consultation, and operational support to the leadership team and line managers on strategic and people-related issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure compliance with company HR policies and procedures, aligning with organizational standards.
  2. Oversee and evaluate overall HR performance across the organization.
  3. Provide guidance on manpower planning and ensure optimal staffing to achieve budgeted profit per employee.
  4. Ensure the timely filling of all budgeted positions in accordance with the company’s recruitment workflow process.
  5. Ensure adherence to the Group’s Performance Management System, including the successful implementation of the annual Talent Roadmap deliverables.
  6. Identify training needs, assess training effectiveness through post-training evaluations, and measure return on investment (ROI).
  7. Support the Sector HR/HSSE Manager in maintaining employee classifications and conducting annual compensation reviews.
  8. Contribute to continuous improvement and change management initiatives, collaborating with project teams and leading specific projects.
  9. Manage the implementation and communication of the Performance Management System, ensuring employee KPIs align with business objectives and that performance reviews are completed on time.
  10. Lead the Annual Salary Review Exercise, ensuring timely and accurate salary increases and bonuses.
  11. Oversee the implementation and audits of employee benefits plans (e.g., pension and health).
  12. Manage employee communications, ensuring staff are informed about their roles, responsibilities, and company policies and procedures.
  13. Facilitate talent calibration sessions to assess and align employee performance, potential, and development needs across the organization.
  14. Maintain the accuracy and completeness of employee profiles in Employee Central (SAP), regularly updating them to reflect changes in personal information, employment status, or job details.
  15. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with Employee Central requirements.
  16. Ensure the subsidiary-specific delivery of Group induction and orientation programs for new employees.
  17. Collaborate with the Sector or Group ER/IR Manager to:
    • Monitor the company’s employment and industrial relations climate.
    • Lead or advise on company negotations.
    • Handle employee and industrial relations matters.
  1. Conduct disciplinary hearings promptly and ensure grievance resolution in accordance with HR Bluebooks and Collective Agreements.
  2. Provide support in coaching Supervisors/Managers on industrial relations, enhancing their IR competencies on a scheduled basis.
  3. Organize employee engagement sessions or events to communicate Sector ER/IR initiatives or updates.
  4. Serve as the primary contact for staff with grievances or Line Managers dealing with progressive disciplinary actions.
  5. Perform all duties in compliance with safety and security standards

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSC Degree in Business Management or similar equivalent
  • Master’s degree would be considered an asset
  • At least 7-8 years’ work experience in a related field, supporting at the Executive level
  • Computer literate. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
  • Understand & influence the business plans of individual subsidiaries to ensure that the employee relations & industrial relations aspects are satisfied to assist in the achievement of business objectives.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge in treating with IROs.
