Objectives and General Overview of the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join our team. The incumbent will play a critical support role to the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports. This role involves comparing budgeted costs to actual production costs and general expenses, along with gross profit margin reporting and analytics. The Management Accountant will collaborate closely with the management team to develop and implement effective business strategies.

Summary of Job

The incumbent will play a critical role in evaluating business performance by performing cost analysis, providing insightful financial reports, and contributing to the development of strategic plans. The role involves analyzing actual manufacturing costs, comparing them to budgets, and monitoring gross profit margins to ensure sustainable business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct standard costing exercises and manage the actual costing of all products.
  2. Analyze the financial impact of pricing strategies, ensuring the profitability, accuracy, and integrity of company products.
  3. Perform overhead and general expense analysis, including the preparation of detailed reports.
  4. Prepare monthly financial forecasts to support business planning and strategy.
  5. Develop annual budget templates and assist in the creation of the Corporate Plan.
  6. Participate in training and development activities to enhance financial knowledge and skills.
  7. Address team concerns and provide guidance on pricing suggestions.
  8. Conduct financial analysis for capital expenditure requests and investment proposals.
  9. Evaluate business processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable solutions to optimize operations.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least three years of proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, budget preparation, and financial forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
