Colonial Fire Insurance Company Limited was established in 1955 by the late Cyril Lucius Duprey. In 1957, they began operations in Port of Spain as a specialized company of qualified underwriters dedicated to assisting customers.

In 1968, the company’s name was changed to Colonial Fire & General Insurance Company Limited (COLFIRE) to reflect its expanded capabilities in addressing all general insurance needs, including Property, Motor, Liability, Marine, and other insurance lines.

COLFIRE is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ANSA McAl Group of Companies.
