THE ANSA MERCHANT BANK FINANCIAL GROUP 

The ANSA Merchant Bank Financial Group is unique in the Region. It comprises four non-bank financial institutions and a commercial bank. The group consists of ANSA Merchant Bank Limited (AMBL) in Trinidad and Tobago, ANSA Merchant Bank (Barbados) Limited, ANSA Securities Limited, Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Limited (TATIL), Trinidad and Tobago Life Assurance Limited (TATIL Life) and ANSA Bank Limited. The flagship institution is AMBL, which is publicly quoted on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, and which has roots dating back to 1977. It has branches in Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados and is integrally involved in project financing the length and breadth of the Caribbean. 

The launch of ANSA Bank, formerly Bank of Baroda (Trinidad) Limited, in 2021 significantly expanded the range of commercial banking services of the Group, making the group the only one in the Caribbean that offers a full suite of financial products and services to clients. ANSA Bank is working towards challenging traditional banking models with a robust digital platform that puts control back into customer’s hands. 

Two of the regions oldest and best-known insurance companies are part of the Group: TATIL with its Barbados branch, Trident Insurance, and TATIL Life.  

The AMBL Financial Group offers a wide range of financial solutions in Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados. Important business lines on the banking side include a diverse range of commercial banking products, private wealth management and investment and mutual fund options, Treasury and foreign exchange, asset financing and leasing, project financing for sovereign governments and major blue-chip clients. On the insurance side, TATIL offers motor, property and health coverage, and TATIL Life provides financial solutions in the form of pensions, annuities, and critical illness coverage.
