The Caribbean’s most prestigious awards programme, fully funded by the ANSA McAL Foundation – the philanthropic arm of the Group. Awards of TT$500,000 (or local currency equivalent) are made annually to exceptional Caribbean nationals in the following categories: Arts & Letters, Entrepreneurship, Public & Civic Contributions, and Science & Technology.

The Foundation has been Helping People to Help Themselves since 1993, by supporting a wide range of causes including children’s homes, educational institutions, Community Based Organisations, and faith-based initiatives.

Originally the Fund was organised to identify the ten most “Neediest Cases” in Trinidad & Tobago so that they could have been be given financial assistance. Over the years the Guardian Neediest Cases Fund expanded its reach to assist the Needy throughout Trinidad & Tobago.
