Job Summary:
- To ensure that parts and materials are available for plant usage and to control the activities of the Stores Department in accordance with the Company’s policies.
Job Description:
- Induct, train, develop and supervise team members in all aspects of the stores operation.
- Perform all the duties of the team members with specific attention to creating codes for new items and the maintenance and administration of the EPIX system, particularly the accuracy of records (editing).
- Recommend improvements/modifications to the Stores operation and monitor planned action (follow-up) implemented to maximise service to customers.
- Make corrections arising from discrepancies in the inventory after investigations have been approved by the Logistics Manager/Chief Accountant.
- Ensure that the criteria for closing the month end accounts are met by the appointed time.
- Monitor the storing of items, documents and records to facilitate safe keeping and easy retrieval.
- Maintain stock levels to prevent overstocking and ‘stockouts’.
- Produce reports on request.
- Liaise with internal suppliers and customers to create customer excitement.
- Conduct the annual performance appraisal of subordinates and undertake appropriate follow-up actions in an effort to develop the capabilities of employees and maximise the efficiency of the Department.
- Plan for and participate in training and developmental activities for subordinates.
- Handle all first stage Industrial Relations matters of subordinates in accordance with the existing Collective Agreement.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the procedures as per ISO 9001 standards and CGL Quality Manual.
- Perform any other related duties as may be required by the job function.
- To comply with the Company’s/ Department’s procedures and policies belonging to the Quality Management System and the Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
- To fulfill the legal duties of the Occupational Safety & Health Act 2004 as an employee.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Five (5) subjects at the Ordinary Level or the equivalent which must include Mathematics and English Language.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in a Stores/Warehouse related environment.
- Professional training in warehouse and stores supervision or management.
- Computer literate- ability to work in a computerized environment, data entry relating to issues and receipts.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and be supportive to subordinates.
- Analytically minded.
