Job Summary

The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and distribution operations, including inventory management, staff supervision, and logistics coordination. The role ensures the efficient, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maintaining safety standards and optimizing operational performance.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee all warehouse and distribution operations, setting and monitoring goals to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction with efficiency, accuracy and timely delivery of goods

Manage, coach, and evaluate warehouse management teams and staff to drive high performance, competence and accountability

Support supply planning, contributing to inventory strategies for existing products, new items, and phase-outs.

Drive process improvement, implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure health, safety, and compliance, maintaining standards for quality, sanitation, security, and legal regulations.

Coordinate inventory and deliveries, working with procurement to manage receipts, damages, and packing for timely dispatch.

Manage warehouse budgets, control expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Analyze operational data and prepare reports on KPIs, performance metrics, and efficiency improvements.

Monitor inventory levels, ensure accuracy of stock records, and minimize losses, damages, and discrepancies.

Prepare and present regular operational and analytical reports to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making

Collaborate with procurement, sales, and transportation teams to align distribution strategies with business objectives

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in warehouse and distribution operations, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis/reporting tools.

Proven track record of managing large-scale warehouse operations and leading high-performing teams

Demonstrated experience in inventory management, logistics coordination, and process optimization

Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

Robust analytical skills with experience in KPI tracking, reporting, and data-driven decision-making

Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for warehouse operations

People management and leadership skills, including the ability to lead, motivate, and discipline staff

Collaboration, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities to manage multiple warehouse operations effectively.

Experience in budget management, cost control, and driving operational efficiencies

Solid understanding of health, safety, and regulatory requirements within a warehouse environment
