  1. OBJECTIVES AND GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION: 

SUMMARY OF JOB 

Plan, organize, and supervise all mechanical maintenance activities in accordance with ANSA McAL Group policies, HSSE procedures, Quality systems and preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operation. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Plan and oversee mechanical maintenance for rotating and static equipment to ensure plant reliability and efficiency. 
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Mechanical Technicians, Welder, and Fabricator to build technical competence and foster accountability. 
  • Inspect and assess mechanical systems to detect wear, corrosion, and potential failures for timely corrective actions. 
  • Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life. 
  • Ensure compliance with company HSSE policies, engineering standards, and permit-to-work procedures to maintain a safe work environment. 
  • Review and verify welding, fabrication, and fitting activities for adherence to design and quality specifications. 
  • Manage mechanical work orders and maintenance records through the CMMS to ensure data accuracy and traceability. 
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment downtime and implement preventive maintenance actions to minimize or eliminate recurrence. 
  • Support reliability investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to address mechanical failures. 
  • Monitor and manage spare parts inventory for mechanical equipment to support maintenance readiness and cost control. 
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering on plant modification and mechanical design projects to optimize performance. 
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical faults to ensure timely corrective action. 
  • Coordinate the acquisition of certificates for mechanical systems to maintain compliance with Company’s quality standards. 
  • Assist in preparing and managing the mechanical maintenance budget to ensure optimal allocation of resources. 
  • Perform other related duties to support safe and efficient plant maintenance. 

Formal Education: 

         Undergraduate Degree/University         

Degree and major if applicable:  

  • B.Sc. Degree in an Engineering field (from a recognized, accredited institution). 

Required hands-on, technical, or other types of training to perform the job: 

  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and maintenance practices. 
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform maintenance strategies and decisions. 
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation. 
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
