Job Summary:

The Group Tax Department at ANSA McAL is a centralized professional function responsible for tax compliance, governance, and risk management across a diversified multinational group operating in multiple jurisdictions and sectors. The Senior Tax Accountant plays a key technical and execution role, supporting the accurate preparation of tax filings, reconciliations, and reporting across the Group. The role applies sound tax and accounting knowledge, professional discipline, and analytical skills to ensure statutory compliance, data integrity, and audit readiness, while supporting subsidiaries and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the tax function.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file Corporation Tax, VAT/GST, PAYE, and withholding tax returns for assigned Group entities in accordance with local legislation.
  • Review subsidiary tax submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, ensuring consistent application of Group tax policies.
  • Support IFRS tax accounting, including tax journals, deferred tax schedules, and effective tax rate inputs.
  • Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts (VAT, CIT, WHT, refunds, provisions) and resolve discrepancies with finance teams.
  • Respond to tax queries and support subsidiaries with tax authority correspondence, audits, and routine compliance matters.
  • Calculate and monitor quarterly tax instalments, final payments, refunds, credits, and ageing schedules.
  • Maintain schedules for tax losses, allowances, and incentives, supporting Group reporting requirements.
  • Prepare inputs for ETR reporting, dashboards, and management commentary
  • Support audit readiness and provide documentation in response to tax authority and external audit requests.
  • Identify and escalate compliance gaps, data issues, or higher-risk matters to senior tax leadership.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and standardisation, including the adoption of new tools and automation.
  • Support tax training initiatives and assist with tax research and OECD-related compliance initiatives (e.g. BEPS, transfer pricing, CbCR). implications for restructurings, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; tax-related coursework is an asset.
  • Professional qualification: ACCA or CPA; CIMA acceptable with tax exposure.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in accounting or tax, including 2–3 years in direct tax compliance.
  • Strong Excel skills and working experience with ERP systems (e.g. D365, SAP, Oracle).
  • Practical exposure to IFRS-based financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Experience in a multi-entity or group environment is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
  • Working experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, D365) preferred.
  • Exposure to Caribbean, LATAM, and/or US tax regimes is an advantage.
  • Experience contributing to compliance reporting, dashboards, or data-driven tax analysis (e.g. Power BI) is an asset.
